Official World War 1 kukri reproduced by KHHI to sustain its amazing legacy..
A faithful KHHI reproduction of one of the earliest standardized Gurkha military khukuris, combining WWI history, traditional Nepalese craftsmanship, and a powerful heavy-bladed design.
Historic attachments:
The GI2 (Gurkha Issue 2nd), also known as the MK1, is a reproduction of an early 20th-century Gurkha military khukuri associated with the First World War era. Originally produced from around 1903 to 1915, it was carried by Gurkha soldiers in major WWI theaters including Gallipoli, Mesopotamia, France and Egypt.
KHHI’s reproduction preserves the distinctive character of the original: a large, heavy 15-inch blade, broad and relatively straight profile, short robust handle, and traditional construction. The 5160 steel blade is paired with a polished rosewood handle and a traditional water-buffalo-leather scabbard with brown leather frog.
Designed primarily as a historical military reproduction and serious collector's piece, the GI2 also retains the substantial, forward-heavy character of the original design. KHHI has produced this version in Kathmandu since 2009.A legendary Gurkha kukri, made to carry the legacy forward.Default Specifications
