\"Julia\" porcelain plate by Piero Fornasetti from a select group of porcelain plates made by Rosenthal. From Fornasetti\'s catalog of designs of the \"Tema e Variazioni\" (themes and variations) plate series, with a surreal image of Lina behind bars, this is Motiv No. 22. The dimensions are 9.25 in. x 1.25 in. high. Fornasetti\'s most famous works are of his illustrations featuring the face Lina Cavalieri, an operatic soprano. Fornasetti found her face in a 19th century magazine and used the black and white image for his iconic work. Made to be displayed on the wall with pre-drilled holes on the back. A vintage piece with gilt edge distinguishing it from current productions.
