kabuki portrait of Bando Hikosaburo V as Sarushima Soda in the play "Shiro kurenai sakura no goshozome" at the Nakamura Theater in Tokyo. He looks over his shoulder with an angry frown, his brows furrowed. He wears a purple kimono over a red under robe with a light blue collar, a sword at his side. Undulating water fills the background beneath a softly shaded evening sky. Nicely detailed with fine linework in the hair.
