These things are hard to find. Japanese carpenters usually make them as they need them. This style is great for carving and sculpture. The blade back was lapped flat to ensure a great edge. The only thing you need to do on an ongoing basis is continue to strop or lightly sharpen the back of the blade and strop the bevel. The blade was coated with traditional Japanese camellia oil to prevent rust and to give a smooth cut. The dai/body was waxed twice.
