noguchi measured timeIsamu Noguchi’s “Measured Time” is a commercial kitchen timer and electric clock case designed in 1932 for the Stevenson Manufacturing Company (Measured Time Inc.) in La Porte, Indiana.
First Industrial Design: It marks Noguchi\'s earliest documented commercial mass-produced design, pre-dating his famous 1936 \"Radio Nurse\" baby monitor.
• Materials & Form: Sculpted from monolithic Bakelite (an early plastic), glass, enameled brass, and printed paper, the design features a heavy, stone-like aesthetic.
Dual Timekeeping: The unit houses time in two ways—a finite interval kitchen timer in the upper portion and a continuous loop clock face below.
This piece does work. It has some water discoloration in the bottom clock face.
