This antique Iroquois whimsy was made in the early 1900's by Iroquois artisans for the tourist trade. It features beaded leaves, flowers and a feather with a whimsical squirrel at the top. The detailed glass beadwork, including the fringed loops, is intact. This whisk broom holder or wall pocket is a handmade collectible item and a testament to the rich history and artistry of Native American tribes. It has a light-colored fabric backing on the front and a dusky rose-colored fabric on the back. It features multi-colored translucent glass seed beads with raised dimensional work and beaded loop fringe. It measures 9" high x 8" wide, not counting the loops at the bottom. It is in very good condition, with only minor wear. Please note that the hanging ribbon has become disconnected on one side (see photo).
