ITILIAN BAROQUE STYLE SILVERPLATED BRASS CANDELABRA HOLDER GRIFFIN LION EAGLE
- Measures 19.5" tall (including the top piece) and a little over 8" wide.
- Weighs 5.9 pounds each.
These candelabras are in solid vintage condition with no major breaks or missing parts. They display an exquisite aged patina. Because they are vintage cast pieces, they possess a few minor structural variances typical of their age and manufacturing process, which have been fully photographed:
• Slight Height Variance: The left candelabra stands slightly taller than the right model.
• Minor Lean: The central urn section on one candelabra sits slightly crooked/tilted.
• Base Wobble: One of the candelabras has a very minor wobble on flat surfaces due to a slight variance in the cast decorative feet.
• Casting Artifacts: Minor pitting and metal flash lines are visible within the tight spaces of the ornate scrollwork arms, consistent with vintage Italian foundry work.
Please review all high-resolution photos carefully to assess the exact cosmetic condition and character of this stunning pair before purchasing.
- Highly detailed pair of matching 5-arm candelabras cast in the ornate Italian Baroque revival style. These heavy, substantial statement pieces feature incredible classical metalwork adorned with intricate scrollwork and dramatic mythical creature motifs, including griffins, lions, and eagles.
- While this specific Italian design template is commonly found in raw polished brass, this unique pair is the rarer silver-plated brass variant. Over the decades, the silver plating has naturally oxidized, developing a beautiful, deep pewter-like antique patina that accentuates every curve, wing, and facial detail of the castings.
• Quantity: One (1) Matching Pair (2 Candelabras total)
• Capacity: Each holds 5 taper candles (10 total)
• Material: Heavy cast brass core with authentic vintage silver plating
• Motifs: Detailed classical casting including base lions, mid-tier eagles, and upper winged griffins
• Origin: Mid-20th-century vintage revival period (Style popularized by historic Italian metal foundries like Brevettato)
