Item:Authentic vintage Imperial Airways (not to be confused with Imperial Airlines) luggage label/sticker.Imperial Airlines was in business from 1924 -1939 when they merged with BOAC. The bi-planes viewed through the plane windows are de Havilland DH.34's. They were used by the airline from 1924-1926. Label shows a very interesting view of early air travel including a women waving at he bi-planes and man with a monocle reading a newspaper.Rarity: The Air Transport Label Catalog published by the Aeronautical & Air Label Collectors Club/ Aerophilatelic Federation of the Americas shows this label (#GB-16) as rated "R" (rare) on their 5 level scarcity scale. This is their top scarcity rating. Label measures 5.25" x 3.75".
Condition: Never used; near mint with full glue on reverse.
