Howl's Moving Castle Buttoned Stole, an official Studio Ghibli item from Donguri Kyowakoku in Japan.
The stole is woven in the same argyle pattern as the cape Howl wears in the film. Look closely and you will find Calcifer and other motifs from the story worked into the design.
There is a detail that only appears when you wear it. Fasten the two buttons and drape it over your shoulders, and a lively Calcifer appears on the left side of your chest while a fading, almost burnt-out Calcifer appears on the right.
The jacquard weave gives the design fine detail and a warm feel, and the fabric is soft against the skin without any scratchiness. With the buttons fastened it can be worn like a poncho, and the two buttons keep it from slipping off the shoulders. It also works as a plain scarf or as a lap blanket.
