This is a vintage Hagen-Renaker miniature sitting Siamese kitten figurine made out of ceramic/porcelain with blue painted eyes and dark pointed markings complete with its original San Dimas, California paper card.
Hagen-Renaker miniatures are highly collected, and there is a very active, dedicated secondary market for them.
Because Hagen-Renaker routinely retires older designs twice a year to introduce new models, many older pieces are deeply sought after by collectors. Cats, dogs, and horses are among the most popular categories. There is even an official Hagen-Renaker Collectors Club that stays active to this day.
The original paper card adds value. Most buyers removed these tiny ceramics from their strong paper backings to display them in shadow boxes. Finding a vintage kitten still attached to its original San Dimas card significantly boosts its appeal and value to serious collectors.
We closely inspect this cat for tiny chips on the delicate ears and tail, as well as clear glaze crazing. We noted no defects, this piece appears to be in very clean shape.
