You will receive one (1) vintage antique found photograph (mostly 1900-1960s) with a full name and sometimes also dates or locations, which you can use to practice honing your genealogy research skills!
Great for individuals who like solving historical mystifies and reuniting families with lost treasures. Would also be good for creating activities for students if you are teaching genealogy workshops.
You will receive ONLY a photo that has either the full names of the people pictured (most common case) or something else very specific that you might potentially identify them with, like a house number, a specific job position in a certain place in a particular year, etc…
It’s a good feeling to be able to solve an identity mystery using Family Search, Ancestry.com, or other sources, & then, if you like, to upload copies of the picture for relatives to see! :)
When I had fewer photos in my supply I tried to do this whenever I could, sometimes even mailing the originals to family when they were actively searching for info, but I don’t have the time to do them all these days so I thought this might be win-win. I can send them to a new home to someone who might want to try to solve their mysteries, and you can practice your genealogical research skills!
