Offered here is killer prepared pyritized brachiopod piece that contains 30 brachiopods and a host of other sea floor fauna from the Waldron Shale Formation from Blue Springs Quarry (filled with water) in Waldron, Indiana; Silurian in age. The brachiopods average between 1/8” wide to 5/8” wide with 5 different kinds of brachiopods. The matrix measures 3 3/4” x 3”. As you can see from the pictures, the piece contains a multitude of fantastic pyritized brachiopods as well as other fauna. I’ll let you, the buyer, identify the brachiopods. This piece only showed a few brachiopods before prep so 2 1/2 hours later this magnificent piece appears. Was prepared using air abrasion with dolomite under a stereo zoom microscope. This beautiful piece was found about 20 years ago during the time we had a lease on part of the old Blue Springs Quarry outside Waldron, Indiana. Our quarry dig is full of water no collecting allowed by the new land owner. Thank you.
