I havre not seen these Western midget hunting knives for sale in 10 years on .These knives appear in the 1941 catalog pages of the book: Knifemakers Who Went West, the story of Western knives. These knives came in two different celluloid handle materials, opalized pearl (which is often called cracked ice), and goldstone. The handles are held onto the blade with two small brass pins. They were produced as souvenir knives for various tourist outlets, National Parks and Monuments, and mountain gift shops in the 1940's.Some were actually hot stamped into the handle with names like: Boulder Sedalia, Estes Park, Denver, and Omaha. Most of these knives were unstamped, with stamped examples commanding a premium price. These knives came with a hand sewn sheath, each sheath a different color of leather. This sheath is some sort of snake skin.
A great conversation piece for sure. The blades are actually flat ground, and were made of the same steel as Western's other knives.
