Early Navajo Diné Coin Silver Royston Turquoise Cuff Bracelet 1930s-40s
Early/mid-20th-century Navajo/Diné handmade silver cuff, circa 1930s–1950s, featuring a large, thick high-domed turquoise cabochon visually attributed to Nevada’s Royston Mining District based on its aqua/blue-green color and extensive golden-brown host-rock matrix. Mine provenance is not documented.
Elaborate hand fabrication includes two substantial outer rails, a twisted center element, handmade bezel with twisted-wire border, applied scroll/loop wirework and three silver drops. Unsigned with no purity mark. Scratch tested as silver, with a response below modern sterling fineness, indicating possibly coin; exact purity is unconfirmed.
Weight: 33.75 g. Approx. 6 1/2” wearable size with 1 7/8” opening. Center assembly approx. 2” tall. Previously polished/cleaned with dark oxidation remaining in recesses. Age/use wear and handmade irregularities as shown. Stone remains securely set.
