Coming from the Stokkebye Family Collection, I was excited to get this pipe. They have a vast private collection with Peter and Eric at the helm of course.
If you are a fan of small brands, those that diverge from the standard names and offer some cool pipe history in a very nice, excellent condition pipe, this Duncan Hill Christmas 1992 smooth Canadian definitely fits the bill. With almost 35 years of age to this pipe, the briar will be further seasoned from it, only improving its smoking qualities. This pipe was part of the Stokkebye Family pipe collection making it even more special.
Sold through E.A. Carey for much of its time (if not all) and even now, the Duncan Hill Aerosphere system is an interesting one and patented as well. These pipes are made here in the USA in Bristow, Oklahoma though other sources state England for this pipe.
This one caught my eye as it’s the nicest one I’ve ever seen. Before I even saw the brand name, it got my attention for all the rich brown briar in the Canadian shape with the Brass ring on the shank as part of the Aerosphere is also a unique item.
The 3 bands at the end of the shank are a nice addition and the 2 on the outside match that brass nicely. I included some pictures at the end of the patent.
The pipe shows off some awesome flame grain and bird’s eye grain without a dull area and an unfiltered vulcanite stem to finish it off.
This Christmas 1992 special release is in fantastic condition. It’s very near mint and no damage or blemishes really. There’s always a chance for small handling marks but I didn’t notice or recall any. It’s very clean inside and out with a smooth chamber and freshly buffed and waxed with carnauba.
The price is above what you’ll see for most listed but there isn’t a comparison I could find from the brand in beauty, condition and a year made stamping. I did not leave much room at all for myself so pricing is firm as usual. I bought this because I was so intrigued by it. If I can break even after seller fees, I’ll be happy. :)

At a minimum, I do everything possible to make sure the pipe is at its best and packaged well. All pipes are carefully inspected, cleaned, gently buffed, waxed with Carnauba and the stems are hand polished and oiled as needed. For a decade, I’ve put all I have into these pipes, packaging and more. I really enjoy it and my fellow hobbyists.
