Maker: This dramatic large centerpiece pedestal fruit bowl is from Deruta, Italy, home of beautiful ceramics for centuries. On the bottom is a handwritten attribution to the legendary Sberna Studio.
The Sberna studio has been producing majolica wares in Deruta for over 50 years and is world renowned for its high quality ceramics.
Design: In keeping with that long tradition of excellence, the bowl is beautifully hand painted in a classic Deruta geometric design of rust, blue, green and yellow.
The number 129/35 is on the base.
Size: The bowl is 13 3/4 inches wide at the top, 7 1/2 inches wide at the base and 8 1/8 inches tall. It weighs an impressive 4 pounds 10 ounces.
Condition: It\'s in excellent condition with no marks, nicks, chips, cracks, scratches, stains, discoloration, repairs or wear. It has the pinpoint pricks and inconsistencies in glazing and paint that are typical of handmade Deruta ceramics and add to their charm.
