This is a vintage Community Plate storage box from the 1930s or 1940s, manufactured by Oneida Silversmiths to hold their line of high-quality silver-plated flatware and cutlery. The two-tone casing features an ivory or cream- colored lidded top paired with a contrasting black base. Stylized floral carving details and wavy, stepped edges are classic elements of the Art Deco movement popular during that era. The logo silver metallic oil strip embedded into I molded .O prominently reads \"COMMUNITY PLATE\".  Does not have the original protective velvet lining. Today, collectors highly seek out these cases to reuse as vintage jewelry holders or decorative trinket boxes.
