An original ink signature of Clarence Muse (1889–1979), the pioneering Black actor, composer, and writer whose film career ran from the silent era through the 1970s. Signed in blue ink on a yellow album leaf and accompanied by a full James Spence Authentication (JSA) Letter of Authenticity, notarized, dated April 28, 2021. Also included is a modern black-and-white print of a film still featuring the actor.
Signature: Full signature, \"Clarence Muse,\" in blue steel-tip fountain pen, front of page, with his characteristic underline flourish. Strong, bold, and fully legible.
Format note: Yellow album page, 4.5\" x 6\", unmarked manufacturer, with three punched binder holes at the top and rounded lower corners. Single signature.

Film still: Modern reproduction print, 8\" x 10\" black-and-white, with the studio still code \"BB-BS-3\" in the lower left, indicating the film Broken Strings. Depicts a family drawing-room scene with a piano, a violin case, and five performers. This is a modern print, not a vintage original studio still, and is included as a companion display piece.
Condition: Album page shows light, even age toning, and the punch holes are original. No tears or stains visible; some faint soft creasing may be present (please note any you see in hand). The ink is clear and bold. The LOA is crisp with no damage. The print is in fine condition with a slightly glossy surface and a few light reflective glare marks in the scan, not in the print itself.
