Vintage Chinese-style carved red lacquer vase with detailed raised scenic and floral decoration.
The vase features deeply molded/carved landscape scenes with figures, trees and architectural details, along with geometric and floral borders. The red surface has darker recessed areas that emphasize the design.
The piece has the appearance of traditional cinnabar-style carved lacquer work over a lightweight hollow body. The underlying core material has not been definitively identified, so it is not being represented as solid cinnabar, carved resin, wood or metal.
Measures approximately 8" tall and about 3.5" across at the widest point.
Vintage condition with expected age-related rubbing, small surface marks and areas of finish wear, particularly around the rim and edges. No maker’s mark was found.
A striking decorative piece for an Asian art, Chinese decor, carved lacquer or vintage vase collection.
