This carte de visite portrait features a pretty young woman. She is likely an actress, but I can not identify her. She is nicely dressed in dark attire. Is she in mourning? She is wearing a bracelet and a ring. She appears well poised as she poses for this photograph. The photograph was taken at the studio of Auguste Patte (1842-1912), located in Boulogne-sur-Mer, France. The city is a major fishing port on the north coast of France. Patte was born in Boulogne. His father was an optician. The family moved to Paris. Auguste worked as a photographer in someone else\'s studio. He married in Paris in 1869. He then opened his own studio there. He eventually moved back to Boulogne-sur-Mer. He established a studio there succeeding the Berthaud & Chamoin studio. He continued to work as a photographer until his death in 1912. This cdv is in good condition (see scans).
