For sale is a vintage upstate New York Hudson Valley Whirligig in the form of a bird pecking a tree

This piece came from a barn/shed in Ulster County New York.

It features a windvane with propeller driven mechanical motions which allow the woodpecker to peck back and forth at the tree.

We think circa 1950’s in age...maybe later.

Overall good with normal paint wear. Mechanical unit seems to work fine in the wind.

Set on a base which may have been replaced at one point. Unsure.
