Here is a steam locomotive gauge that has been tested and regulated and is accurate in all ranges. It does not have the usual holes in the back rim because many late-steam era gauges were held on to a gauge rack with clamps, like Union Pacific did. This gauge has a heavy brass case with a low-clearance bezel. See photos. The face has incised numbers and letters on heavy white metal. The gauge shows very little use. This one has the traditional full-moon/quarter-moon pointer. It is 8 1/2 inches at the back and 7 1/4 or so at the front.
