DESCRIPTION
Set of4 Boride sharpening stones(150, 400, 800, 1200 grits) for guided sharpening systems such as Edge Pro Apex, TSPROF, Hapstone, KaZaK, and other compatible Apex-style sharpeners.
Boride stones are well known for their consistent performance and are available in different compositions and grit levels for various stages of sharpening.
These stones are from theBoride T2 seriesand are made with aluminum oxide abrasive.
Each Boride stone is approximately1/8" (3.17 mm) thickand is securely mounted to a0.125" high-quality aluminum blank, making it ready for use with compatible guided sharpening systems.
Recommended Lubricants
Boride stones can be used with:
- Boride Bori-Lube
- Water/dipropylene glycol solution
- Honing oil
- Other suitable sharpening lubricants
When using water, soaking the stone for approximately1-2 minutes before sharpeningis recommended.
When using honing oil, apply a small amount to the surface and spread it evenly. Additional oil may be required if the stone absorbs it quickly.
PLEASE NOTE
Boride stones may occasionally have minor cosmetic imperfections from the manufacturing process, including light saw marks, lacquer residue, or very small chips around the edges or corners. These do not normally affect the performance of the stone and can be removed during normal stone preparation/lapping.
As with many professional sharpening stones, some initial preparation or flattening may be beneficial before use.
For best results, the stones can be lapped using loose silicon caroffere powder or a suitable diamond lapping plate.
