Beautiful Antique UV Glowing Manganese Ribbed Poison Apothecary Vial BottlesHere I have a pair of beautiful Victorian aqua green glass apothecary vial bottles from roughly the 1870s - 1900s, one is definitely a poison of some sort as it features the classic vertical ribbed embossings, the other is a apothecary bottle of some sort. They are in very good condition for their age, they feature thick aqua green glass, many air bubbles and makers imperfections due to the age and old methods of production but please see the pictures for yourself as those are the exact bottles you will receive. They glow a bright green colour under a UV 365nm light, I am sure they are manganese glass, manganese dioxide was used as a decolorizer or clarifier by the bottle manufacturers, people later found out these additives made the glass glow different colours under a UV 365nm light as seen in the images. All my bottles were collected from either Sheffield, Chesterfield or Rotherham and carefully cleaned by myself.
I have lots of bottles available from my collection not just the ones listed so please get in touch in you are looking for specific ones or have any questions. Thanks for looking
