Authentic WWII German Lufftwaffe Air Communications Generals Uniform Lot Purchased in 2018 From a military antique store, before this it sat in a Wisconsin attic. Receipt will be provided upon purchase if requested.Comes with a Map which came with the uniform when I bought it in 2018 and appears to be of the area north of Vienna Austria. Also comes with two pairs of pants. One of which being the classic straight legged variety, which has three small holes on the rear right pant leg around the area of the knee.
The other pants are the “large top” (Reithosen) variety which would have been typically worn during military parades. The Tunic is definitely the most distinctive part of the listing, it does have a small hole on the left bottom lapel (I thought I got a close photo but i didnt oops). The pipping of the “Sonderführer” signifies that it was a Generals uniform. The Orange/Saddle Brown coloration signifies it was worn by Air Communications Troops (Luftnachrichtentruppe). I believe this to be true but I am no expert tbh so yeah.
The tunic also had a Weimar-era ribbon below the top button, which was probably received with an award.
The tag on the breast pocket states “Novelty TAILLEUR AIX-EN-PROVENCE" (Tailor from Aix-en-Provence). This indicates it is a French-tailored jacket rather than a standard-issue German military coat, being custom-made, modified, or repaired by local tailors in occupied France. This detail along with the inclusion of Austria, dates the jacket to some after summer of 1940.None of the threads glow under black light; indicating there is no use of synthetic fibers in the clothing.
