Up for sale is an authentic antique Victorian-era walnut wooden cabinet case, originally constructed in the late 19th century (c. 1870s–1890s) to house a cylinder music box, tabletop reed organ movement, or clock mechanism.
Crafted from solid walnut with a handsome, deep-grained finish, this piece features a prominent front panel accented with rich burl walnut veneer inlay and a brass keyhole escutcheon. The detailed moldings and arched profile give it a classic Eastlake / Renaissance Revival aesthetic, making it an excellent candidate for antique restoration, custom audio builds, or decorative upcycle projects.
Condition Notes:
Overall: Solid structural wood condition for its age with natural patina, surface wear, and light scuffing/finish dryness on top.
Lid/Hinges: The top lid is loose and detached; original hinges have been removed.
Wood Structure: There is a minor vertical split/separation along the lower left corner molding seam.
Interior: The base interior features an applied wood patch covering an old mechanical cutout.
