This historical 26-inch strand features 60 individual handcrafted mosaic cylinder beads, showcasing a vibrant variety of traditional patterned cane designs, including classic layered eye, striped, and floral-geometric motifs.These beads were manufactured by skilled glassmakers in Venice (Murano), Italy, and heavily used as a form of currency in trade networks throughout West Africa during the late 1800s and early 1900s.Condition Report:As authentic, historically circulated antique trade items, these beads show genuine signs of age and wear. Standard minor pitting and small flea bites around the perforation holes are present across the strand. Please note: There are exactly 6 beads on this strand that exhibit more extensive, visible chipping (please see dedicated close-up photos for these specific beads). The remaining 54 beads are in great, traditionally preserved condition. Overall, the colors remain incredibly bright and vibrant, the glass is structurally sound, and the strand presents beautifully on its traditional raffia cord.
