Unusual antique copper liquid measure or serving pitcher with fitted lid, pouring lip, large riveted strap handle, and old tin-lined interior.
This is a substantial utilitarian copper vessel with excellent age and character. The body has a tall tapered cylindrical form with rolled base, riveted handle attachments, fitted lid, and naturally darkened exterior patina.
Measures approximately 9 inches tall.
The interior and underside of the lid retain old tinning, indicating that this was originally made as a functional liquid vessel rather than purely decorative copperware.
No visible maker, capacity, verification, or ownership marks were found. Because of that, I am listing it conservatively as an antique tinned-copper liquid measure/pitcher, likely late 19th to early 20th century. It may have been used for milk, ale, water, or other household/commercial liquids, but its exact original purpose and country of manufacture are unknown.
Condition shows substantial age-related patina, oxidation, interior wear to the tin lining, scratches, surface marks, and normal wear from use. No attempt has been made to polish or restore the piece.
Please examine all photographs carefully for condition and construction details.
Sold as a decorative collectible. Not tested for food or beverage use.
