This is a pair of bridge size decks of playing cards manufactured by the American Playing Card Company for a high-end stationary store in New York and London named Radcliffe & Co between the years 1907-1909. The decks were named Rad-Bridge and were played with by bridge clubs in both the U.S. and U.K. in the years around the turn of the century.
The red deck is referred to as having a 'Club Linen' finish while the blue deck has a 'Silk Velour' finish on each card. Both finishes were to make the cards easier to shuffle and deal quickly and effortlessly.
The American Playing Card Company existed between 1890-1915. It was absorbed like so many other card company, by the United States Playing Card Company.
The red deck has all 52 cards plus the much sought after joker called, "Bridge-it"... The cards are in excellent condition with minor edge wear, very crisp, clean and stiff. The box is in very good condition, with signs of wear on front and back as well as box splitting by the top flap. Structurally sound and displays very well.
The blue deck has all 52 cards, no joker. Cards are in excellent condition. The box has visible wear and minor blemishes on front and back. Overall in excellent condition, also structurally sound and displays well.
