Antique Plow Boy Smoking and Chewing Tobacco advertising lunch pail, dating to approximately the early 20th century.This rectangular metal pail features original lithographed advertising with bold “PLOW BOY” lettering, “SMOKING” on the lid and front, and a central illustration of a plow boy flanked by orange arrows reading “SMOKE” and “CHEW.”Features a hinged lid with metal latch and a metal carrying handle with black wooden grip.Condition:Good structural condition with substantial age-related wear throughout. Heavy surface oxidation, rust, discoloration, scratches, and significant loss of the original lithographed finish, particularly on the lid. The interior and underside also exhibit oxidation and rust. The advertising remains recognizable, with much of the lettering and central design still visible. Slight dent in the lid where clasp is. The wooden handle shows wear consistent with age. Please examine all photographs carefully, as they are part of the condition description.An interesting surviving example of early American tobacco advertising, appealing to collectors of antique tobacco tins, advertising memorabilia, and primitive Americana.Sold as found, with no restoration attempted.
