Beautiful antique Bavarian porcelain hair receiver, dating to the late 19th or early 20th century.This charming vanity piece consists of a porcelain container with its original fitted lid featuring the characteristic center opening found on antique hair receivers. Women traditionally kept these on their dressing tables to collect hair removed from brushes and combs.Decorated with large cream, peach and yellow flowers against a soft pale green background, with delicate foliage and gold gilt accents around the edges. The slightly irregular molded shape adds to its beautiful antique character.The underside bears a faint Bavaria backstamp with crest.A wonderful piece for an antique vanity collection, Victorian or Edwardian décor, or as a decorative trinket container.Condition: Antique condition with visible age-related wear to the gold decoration, particularly around the edges.
