Up for sale today is an exquisiteP.O.S. of A.badge forWashington Camp No. 90, Swedesboro, N.J. The Patriotic Order of Sons of America, according to their website, is one of the oldest and patriotic fraternal societies still in existence. There is a central button, presumably depicting George Washington, on a stars and stripes shield. Vertical length of the badge is 81/4 inches with fringe.
This item comes with its original cardboard stiffener to protect it, and the envelope it was enclosed in after manufacturing. It was made by the Whitehead & Hoag Co., in Newark N.J. at Washington and Warren Streets. They were known for their ribbon badges, and then for their celluloid buttons.
The badge pictured is in excellent condition with no stains, rips or issues. The fringe is thick, the image is clear. You judge and check photos for condition. Feel free to make a reasonable offer.
