This square top amberina vase is a fantastic specimen, with gorgeous colors and a particularly pleasing ombre effect. The polished pontil indicates a hand-blown work of high quality, and after much consultation with people who know so much more than I can ever hope to learn, we\'ve concluded this is from New England Glass in the 1880s.
It grabs and reflects the light beautifully, and is a work of art even without flowers (or celery?) within. One small scratch on the side, and shelf marks on the base.
