This is a really cool old piece. It is a mechanical tool that has a retractable snuff spoon on one side and a pick on the other. It seems like it could be used as a toothpick or some other type of pick. I believe it was made sometime in the late 1800s.When it is closed, it measures approximately 2 5/8". If both tools are deployed, it is 4 1/4".There are no markings on it that I have found. It is gold in color. I believe it is either gold filled or it is made from gold with a karat weight below 10K (since that's the lowest testing acid I have). It is gorgeous and in great working condition. It appears to be a somewhat rare object to survive in this state.Message with questions. Thanks for looking.
