📝 Authentic vintage Kraeuter USA combination pliers, model 1821-6½, featuring the distinctive decorative forged handle pattern commonly known as Kraeuter’s “Beauty Handles.”
The tool is marked “KRAEUTER U.S.A.” on the handle and “1821-6½” at the pivot, identifying the model and approximately 6½-inch size.
One of the most interesting features is the ornate geometric pattern forged directly into the handles. The handle ends are also formed into auxiliary tool tips, giving these pliers the wonderfully over-engineered character of early American hand tools.
The Beauty Handle design is associated with a 1921 design patent, making this style especially appealing to collectors of early mechanics’ tools, industrial history, and American-made hardware.
Based on the markings and handle design, these appear consistent with 1920s-era production, though the exact manufacture date has not been independently verified.
