Antique KPM Berlin Portrait Plate 24.5cm (~9.65 inches) Hand Painted Renaissance Lady Gold Gilt
An exceptional European antique porcelain cabinet display plate
This 24.5 cm (approx. 9.65 in) plate features a fine, hand-painted portrait of a young woman in Renaissance-era attire, styled in the tradition of Royal Vienna portraiture. The plate features a detailed rim execution, a raised gold-etched Greek Key geometric border, and an intricate gray-and-white scroll design. The central portrait captures soft, life-like skin tones, delicate features, and a rich red garment.
The back of the plate bears the underglaze cobalt blue KPM Scepter mark (Königliche Porzellan-Manufaktur, Berlin), indicating the plate was manufactured as a premium white porcelain blank in Germany during the late 19th or early 20th century. Next to the scepter is an underglaze blue vertical painter/gilder hash mark.
Excellent antique condition. No chips, cracks, or restorations observed. Very minimal shelf wear on the base rim and pristine front gilding. Please see photos for condition.
