Antique Jewish Silver Teardrop Amulet – "Prayer of the Angels" & Protection (Stamped 813)
I am offering for sale an impressive and unique silver amulet featuring a deep engraving of the Angelic Invocation (from the Bedtime Shema) and a hand motif for supreme protection and blessing.
Item DescriptionFor sale: An original and unique Jewish silver amulet designed in an elegant teardrop (or half-almond) shape. The amulet bears a deep, clear, and beautiful Hebrew engraving of the "Blessing of the Angels" – the well-known and powerful Kabbalistic prayer intended to surround the wearer with divine protection from all sides.
At the bottom of the amulet, beneath the holy text, two open hands facing upwards are engraved. This is a distinct traditional Jewish motif (similar to a Hamsa) designed for protection against the Evil Eye, for blessing, and for receiving divine abundance. The amulet includes a top suspension hole, allowing it to be worn as a pendant/necklace or hung for protection in a home or car.
Specifications & ConditionMaterial: Solid silver. The back of the amulet is stamped with the hallmark "813", indicating the silver purity (a standard typical of traditional and antique silversmithing from specific regions).
Design: Elegant teardrop shape, deeply engraved text on the front, and a smooth back featuring the silver hallmark and three small original hammering bumps.
Dimensions: Length: approx. 5 cm (2 inches), Max Width: approx. 3.8 cm (1.5 inches).
Weight: Approx. 14 grams.
Condition: Excellent vintage/antique condition. The engravings are completely intact and fully readable. The silver has a beautiful natural patina that gives the item historical depth and a truly authentic look.
Deciphering the Engraved TextThe amulet bears the full text of the traditional protective verses in Hebrew:
"In the name of the Lord, the God of Israel, may Michael be at my right hand;Gabriel at my left;before me, Uriel;behind me, Raphael;and above my head the divine presence of God."
This prayer summons the four Archangels for peripheral protection and concludes with the overseeing presence of the Shechinah (Divine Presence).
Condition & AuthenticityThis is an original and authentic item, preserved in wonderful collector's condition. The patina (the natural darkening of the silver in the crevices) beautifully highlights the engraved letters and the hand motif. The amulet has not undergone aggressive polishing in order to preserve its original historical character, though it can easily be polished to a high shine if desired. Please review all photos carefully (including the close-up and ruler photos) to fully appreciate its beauty, size, and exact condition.
A wonderful collectible, a powerful amulet for personal protection, and a perfect gift with deep spiritual meaning!
