The interior base features the authentic, handwritten underglaze marks: "Carbone / Bologna / Made in Italy" alongside the classic artisan monogram mark. Produced in Bologna (closely matching the legendary work of the Angelo Minghetti studio) and imported directly by the prestigious Carbone Import Company of Boston, a firm highly regarded for bringing the absolute finest hand-painted Italian earthenware to affluent American collectors in the 1920s and 1930s.
The bust features vibrant, rich glaze detailing, highlighting a traditional yellow headdress adorned with delicate faux-pearl trim, an intricate green and gold scrollwork bodice, and beautifully draped pink shoulders.
