Antique IXL George Wostenholm Sheffield England 3 Blade Pearl Pen Knife 3 1/8” c. 1900-1920
Antique George Wostenholm I*XL Sheffield, England three-blade split-back Whittler, measuring approximately 3⅛ inches closed. Estimated circa 1900–1920.
This knife has the traditional Whittler arrangement: one master blade opens alone from one end, while two smaller blades open from the opposite end. Two separate backsprings converge beneath the master blade, confirming split-back Whittler construction.
All three blades are tang stamped and have good snap. The blades show substantial age-related patina, pitting, sharpening and wear; please examine the photographs closely for their present shapes and remaining profiles.
The genuine mother-of-pearl handle scales retain attractive natural color and luster. One scale has a visible age crack near the end pin, along with age-related shrinkage and gaps. Bolsters and other metal components show expected surface wear.
A collectible antique Sheffield split-back Whittler from the renowned George Wostenholm I*XL firm. Offered exactly as shown. Great find!
