Condition Report:
Exterior: The black enamel housing shows a fantastic original patina with minor surface oxidation and honest wear consistent with age. The gongs have a soft matte finish with light speckling.
Hardware: Includes the original brass identification plate which is crisp and fully legible.
Internal: The internal mechanism is remarkably clean (see photos). The original cloth-covered wiring is still present, and the dual coils appear intact.
Functionality: Untested. Sold as a historical electrical artifact. This is a heavy, high-quality unit typical of Holtzer-Cabot’s overbuilt industrial standards.
Holtzer-Cabot equipment is highly regarded for its build quality. While 1000-ohm ringers are common in telephony, the large industrial housing on this model adds a "crossover" appeal for decor.
