Antique German Bohemian Glass Beer Stein ZEMSKÁ VÝSTAVA V PRAZE" c.1891. This is a highly collectible historic souvenir beer stein produced to commemorate the 1891 General Land Centennial Exhibition (Všeobecná zemská jubilejní výstava v Praze) held in Prague, which was then part of the Austro-Hungarian Empire.
Because the region of Bohemia (now the Czech Republic) was historically a premier hub for world-class glassmaking, these items are often cross-categorized as both German and Bohemian.
The 1891 Exhibition was a monumental event in Prague. Initially intended to display regional industry, it transformed into a massive celebration of Czech national identity, engineering, and culture, drawing over 2.4 million visitors. Famous landmarks like the Petřín Lookout Tower and the iconic Křižík Light Fountain were built specifically for this fair. Souvenirs like your glass stein were sold to affluent tourists attending the expo.
