Add an elegant touch of Turn-of-the-Century folk art to your vanity with this antique Flemish Art pyrography wood gloves box, dating from the early 1900s Victorian or Edwardian eras. This rectangular wood-burned keepsake case features the word "GLOVES" stylized inside an ornate, stippled background panel flanked by hand-painted red cabbage roses and trailing green leaves. The entire outer body of the box is embellished with a dense, textured basketweave pattern achieved through meticulous hand-scorched pokerwork. Historically used by ladies to house delicate lace and leather winter gloves on a bedroom bureau, this primitive vanity box now serves as a beautiful historic storage chest for modern jewelry, vanity cosmetics, or desk letters. As shown alongside the vintage advertising ruler, it measures approximately 10.5 inches long, making it a perfect statement piece for cottagecore or Victorian bedroom displays. It is in fair to good antique condition with a rich golden balsa wood patina and bright enamel coloring, though it shows authentic age wear as the small original nails are starting to come loose on the side panel. See photos for accurate depiction of condition.
