Antique Copeland Spode hair receiver in the classic blue-and-white Italian pattern, made in England circa 1900.
Hair receivers were kept on a lady’s dressing table and used to collect loose hair removed from brushes. The saved hair could be used to create hairpieces, pad fashionable hairstyles, or fill small household items.
This is the complete two-piece form, consisting of a rounded jar and its original pierced domed lid. The underside carries the blue oval “Copeland / Spode’s / Italian / England” backstamp.

Condition:
This antique piece displays notable age-related crazing throughout, interior discoloration, dark speckling and scattered glaze loss/small chips on the lid, particularly near the central opening. No obvious restoration was observed.
