This is an Antique Chandler's Ice Cutting Machine Marked No.1, Patent 1880It is Manufactured by C.E. Jennings and Co., New YorkHas Aluminum Legsmarked Patented 11/18/1880Circa 1880-1900This is a Wonderful Original Antique Hand Crank Ice Crusher from the late 1800's in Very Usable Condition. The front has a large number "1" embossed near the top and below it is clearly embossed "CHANDLER'S ICE CUTTING MACHINE, PAT. NOV. 13, 80." A hand crank on one side and 2 external gears on the other operate 2 cylinders between them in the hopper inside. The cylinders have multiple pointed cutting blades to crush the ice. The end of the crank has a very nice free turning wood handle which is in perfect condition with no chips or splits and shows that wonderful rich patina that aged wood gets. The bottom of the hopper would sit about 7" above the counter top to catch the ice in a glass or other container. The side supports are trussed for maximum stability and the feet have cut-outs for permanent mounting if desired. The ice crusher can also be used free standing without mounting.
