A distinctive Arts & Crafts wall-mounted match holder handcrafted from warm-toned brass and copper. The shield-shaped backplate is covered in a deeply hammered surface that catches the light beautifully, while folded copper-toned side panels and a raised central matchbox sleeve create a strong architectural form.
The central holder has an embossed, bark-like texture and is sized to accommodate a small traditional matchbox. A circular opening at the pointed top allows the piece to hang directly from a wall hook or nail. Its combination of honest materials, visible handwork, organic texture, and practical function fits naturally with Mission, Craftsman, rustic lodge, and Arts & Crafts interiors.
Measures approximately 4¼ inches wide and 5¾ inches tall.
The metal retains an attractive aged patina with surface darkening, oxidation, small spots, scratches, and expected wear from use and age.
The hand-hammered construction has slight irregularities that add to its handmade character.
The folded sections and central holder remain intact.
A wonderful accessory for displaying near a fireplace, wood stove, candle cabinet, or vintage tobacco collection. It has served a simple purpose for many years and now carries the warmth, marks, and quiet character of the hands and homes that came before.
