Beautiful, authentic American Arts & Crafts movement desk inkwell produced by the rare, early Buffalo Arts Crafts Shop (founded by Otto Heintz in Buffalo, NY, before transitioning into the famous Heintz Art Metal Shop). This historic piece dates between 1902 and 1906. It features the shop’s rare early maker's mark stamped on the bottom (a stylized "B" inside a square, surrounded by a circular flower-petal outline).Design & Condition:• Style: Classic Mission / Arts & Crafts era architectural, trapezoidal form.• Details: Made of heavy brass/bronze with prominent decorative rivets and four distinct, hand-wrought scroll feet.• Lid: Features a hinged, pyramid-style lidded top. Works great. No issues with the hinges.• Condition: Excellent structural antique condition. It features a gorgeous, deep, undisturbed original green/brown aged patina. No structural breaks or heavy damage. (Note: The inner glass reservoir liner is not included / missing, which is common for these pieces).Perfect addition to a Mission oak desk, a library, or an antique metalwork collection.
