Antique Americana Overshot Blanket/Coverlet Quilt
Measures: 89" Long x 71" Wide
The blanket is heavy. The colors are a dark NAVY BLUE with Beige and a Redish Brown.
It has a CENTER SEAM because the old looms were narrow. The fact that it has this seam, dates the blanket/coverlet.
Condition: The age/wear of this antique coverlet is mostly at the edges of the blanket only. There is one patched area and one small - see pics

The rest of the coverlet is in very good condition.* • Technique: Overshot weaving. The raised pattern threads float over the foundation weave, creating that wonderful textured, almost three-dimensional surface. This is characteristic of American woven coverlets.
* Aesthetic: It has a distinctly early-American/ Appalachian folk-textile fee
* This is a nice coverlet, hard to find
