Three original handwritten travel diaries documenting a family trip to Yellowstone National Park and the American West in July 1924. These pocket-sized journals, bound in deep red covers, provide a first-hand account of a journey starting from Baltimore and traveling through Chicago, Ogden, Salt Lake City, and Estes Park, ultimately reaching Yellowstone. The entries, written in pencil, detail daily activities including sightings of Old Faithful, Prismatic Lake, and local wildlife like grizzly bears. The journals include a list of the ten family members in the party and a personal inscription dated July 12, 1924, from a father to his son, Lewis C. Byers. These authentic pieces of Americana capture the experience of early 20th-century national park tourism and railway travel on the Broadway Limited.
The hinges in them are cracked but pages are staying together. Inter sting to read or possibly for junk journaling, collage or other activities.
