Stunning 18th century brass tobacco box intricately engraved with figural motif with a woman and man who appear to be lovers. including writing as well as floral patterns surrounding the scene.

Around the edges is engraved “Ver Laat Dew Erelt” which I believe means “Far from the world”

The box is comprised of solid brass. Nice antique condition overall. The lid stays shut and there are no holes in the box. A great example!

Measures 6-5/8” long, 1-3/4” wide and 1-3/16” thick
