Late 1700s/early 1800s solid lead tobacco box made in England. Lead has minimal pores compared to metal, so tobacco was kept in it to be sealed from moisture corrupting the tobacco.

This box has stunning patina and display appeal! Wonderful original surface with dents and dings. It shows its age in the best way possible.

Solid lead construction with ball finial. Octagonal faceted body. This box weighs 3-1/2 pounds!!
